We may be a little biased…but we think Paris is fantastic!  And there is a TON to do here, yes even in such a small town!

Ok you HAVE to check this place out! But GO EARLY. Because they sell out daily of all their famous sourdough baked goods. Yes they are that amazing. Everyone loves fresh baked goods right!?

Who doesn’t like a cold beer or cider on a hot day! Sample some of our local beers.  Located beside the Paris Wincey Mills.

Attractions & Things To Do

Kayak/Canoe/Tube/Raft the Grand River

One of the most gorgeous easy rivers to float down.  If you bring your own kayaks/canoe/raft then you can easily put in at Bean Park, exits are located at several locations along the river including the Brant Park Conservation Area or Wilks Dam.  Plan a pickup, leave a vehicle there or call a taxi at the end.  Note – There are many kayaking / Canoeing / Tubing companies in Paris. 

Stroll the Nith River Sensory Trail

The Nith River Sensory Trail is an interactive recreational trail that includes a variety of elements to explore including musical instruments and a sensory garden. The trail is accessible to people with disabilities, providing a guided rope, braille signs, a paved path and an accessible picnic table.  This is very enjoyable to children as they learn about the habitat along the Nith River.  Located in Lions Park.

Go Fishing

Yes, you can fish the Grand River, but please honor the local / seasonal fishing rules and regulations.

Picnic at Penman’s Dam

Located at the end of Walnut Street by the kayak and canoe portage (2 minutes away), enjoy beautiful views of the Grand River and dam.  Every evening the dam lights up with seasonal/multiple colors. You can take breathtaking pictures from the William Street bridge (seen from the dam).

The Distillery Trail

This short hike takes you to the end of Lions Park.  The start of the trail is beside Wendy’s Variety, located to the left side of the Nith River Bridge. Meander along the Nith and learn the history of this short walk, then enjoy Lions Park and the Sensory trail while there.

Rail Trails of Paris

The rail trails are located within minutes of the property, by the canoe portage at the end of Walnut Street turn right and about 1 minute down the road you’ll pick up the rail trail to Cambridge (left side), or head towards Brantford or Part Dover by heading on the right trail.   Walk or bike ride this trail.

Hike The Trans Canada Trail

A short drive away. Located at the end of Powerline Rd off of Oak Drive, enjoy views of the Grand River while hiking this trail.

Lions Park

If you enjoy picnics, have children or enjoy music, take the time to enjoy this park.  There are multiple play areas, a bandshell, an outdoor pool, splashpad and sport facilities. Bring a picnic and enjoy this beautiful park nestled along the Nith River. About a 15-minute walk, through downtown, past The Wincey Mills and over the bridge located at the end of Mechanic Street.

Shop Local at Paris Wincey Mills

About a 10-minute walk away, head over the Williams Street bridge into downtown.  Located on Mechanic Street, this historic building has been renovated into a location for artisans and local food providers. Better yet, the Paris brewery company is located here – enjoy a cold one!

Shopping & Galleries

There are many wonderful shops located downtown, you must shop John M Halls and perhaps enjoy an ice cream or chocolates.  Buy some yummy baked goods or enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants. If you are looking for a spa treatment, a haircut, a massage or a new outfit, you won’t leave disappointed from our downtown shopping.  There is also the famous Mary Maxims located in the north end of Paris on Scott Ave.

The Paris Museum

Highlighting the history of Paris and the famous Mills. Located on Curtis Ave, Paris.

Cobblestone Tour

Paris is home to many original cobblestone homes, fences and walks.

Located close by:
  • Bell Homestead (in Brantford, home to Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone)
  • Elberta Farms (located at 353 Governors Rd East, the best place to buy local and fresh)
  • Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area (located on Hwy 24A enjoy swimming, hiking, nature or camping if you want)
